Buchanan's Native Plants, one of the largest native plant garden centers in Texas, is located in the historic Houston Heights, a neighborhood close to downtown. The Heights is known for its Victorian and Craftsman homes, its many antique stores, restaurants and specialty shops, as well as its home tours and 1st Saturday event.

You'll find Buchanan's at 611 East 11th Street, between Heights Blvd. and Studewood St. Come to Buchanan's for garden gifts, a wide selection of garden pots, organic gardening information and supplies, antique roses, and especially for Texas native plants just right for your Houston garden.

• From 290:

Take 290 to 610 East. Exit Yale St-turn right onto Yale and proceed to 11th St. (The streets are numbered so you know when you are getting close). There is a traffic light at 11th and a post office and gas station on the corners. Take a left on 11th.  Go through the light on Heights Blvd. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 6 blocks after Heights Blvd. on the left corner of Oxford St.

• From I-10 West (Katy):

Take I-10 East. After the Loop 610 interchange, take the 4th exit – Studemont. Take a left at the light and go under I-10. Go to the 2nd traffic light which is 11th St. and take a left.  Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right on the corner of Oxford St.

•  From I-45N(Spring,The Woodlands):

Take I-45 almost to downtown. Exit at North Main/Houston Ave. The first light on the feeder road is North Main. Turn right. As you turn right, get into the left lane since you will take the first left onto Pecore St. Pecore St then changes its name to 11th St. The 3rd traffic light is Studewood St. Go through that light and Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right.

•  From Montrose/Medical Center:

Take Montrose north. It changes its name to Studemont and then changes again to become Studewood. Go under 1-10.  The second traffic light  after I-10 is 11th St. Turn left and Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right at Oxford St.

•  From Kirby/Shepherd:

Take Shepherd north. You will cross over I-10. The first traffic light is 11th St. Take a right. You are now on West 11th. Go 1 mile. At Heights Blvd. the street becomes East 11th. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 6 blocks after Heights Blvd. on the left at Oxford St.

• From Sugarland(59S):

Take 59 North to 610N and exit onto I-10 East (toward downtown). Take the 4th exit - Studemont. Take a left and go under I-10. Go to the 2nd traffic light at 11th St. and take a left. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right at Oxford St.

•  From 59N(Conroe & Kingwood):

Take 59 South to I-10 West. Exit Heights/Yale. The first light on the feeder road is Heights Blvd. Take a right. Go to the 2nd traffic light at 11th St. and take a right. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 6 blocks down on the left at Oxford St.

•  From Pearland/Galveston/Friendswood:

Take 45 North and exit N. Main. Turn left and cross over I-45. You will cross the feeder road of I-45. Take the first left onto Pecore St. Pecore will change its name to 11th St. Go through the 3rd traffic light at Studewood St. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right at Oxford St.

•  From Downtown:

Take Washington Ave. to Studemont St. and turn right. Go under I-10. The second traffic light is 11th St. Turn left. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 2 blocks down on the right at Oxford St. You may also take Allen Parkway and exit Montrose. Turn right and proceed as above.

•  From I-10 East:

Take I-10 West. After downtown you will take Heights Blvd./Yale St. exit. The first light on the feeder road is Heights Blvd. Take a right. Go to the second traffic light which is 11th St. Take a right. Buchanan's Native Plants is located 6 blocks down on the left at Oxford St.
